A new Friends’ Hospice charity shop has an official opening in Polis on June 10th.

It will sell clothes, bric a brac, jewellery, preserves and fresh eggs, household items, kitchenware, electrical goods and DVD’s Shop manager Margaret and her staff welcome donations of any of these from June 1st. Call 26352078 for information or to offer valuable support as a volunteer. Address: 2 Andreas Evagorou court. {1 klm from Polis past Steni turn off next to Kourishi Brothers office} Some changes are taking place with the successful monthly book sales. Trimithusa [in the community centre] continues to open on second Friday of each month from 1 p.m till 5 with books at €1.50 or €3.50 for three.

Also on sales are cassettes, videos and DVD’s all at credit crunch prices. In Armou at the old school house book sales will be on last Wednesday each month from 1 p.m to 5. Books again at €1.50 or €3.50 for three.

The popular cake sales will now be held there on this day and not at the Chlorakas shop. At both these book sales customers can buy refreshments. A new service opens every last Friday in the month at the storage container in Geriskipou Boatyard where the clothes are stored. Prices are as shop but the range is bigger.
