Polis 1 – Paphos Federation A 14!

The big guns of Paphos came to Polis to play their friends and neighbours on Saturday 11th April 2009 for a friendly night of darts at Magic Bowl, Prodromi. Paphos with only three of their ‘A’ team playing gave debuts to ‘Dangerous Dave Burkhill’ ‘the superstar’ Sue Burkhill and Rob Barnett. Paphos still fielding three of the four International players, Captain Tony ‘Bandana’ Croxford Cyprus No1, Amanda Sanderson Cyprus no1 Lady and Lorraine McCormick Cyprus No2 Lady.

A ‘full to the rafters’ Magic bowl were treated to a great night of darts and Entertainment which is also what darts is about! The two teams in their uniforms, with each player enjoying their own walk-on music, entertained the two sets of fans sitting together. A special Mention should be made to all the men and the one woman who have give their own time up for free to create a top notch darts venue.

Without the likes of Steve Wake and Gordan Markham there would still be no Darts in Polis and surrounding areas. Also a special mention to Amy and Marguerite for working so hard behind the bar, keeping the thirsty Paphos Team happy! As a team, we would have no problems coming and playing here again regardless of the result – Darts is definitely the winner! Tony Croxford
