Saturday 7th February 2009 EN.A.D. 4 Ellisnismos 2

Having won three of their last four games it was necessary for EN.A.D. to win today to keep their promotion hopes alive. In a game played at a fast pace with end to end play. EN.A.D. went into the lead in the 13th minute in a spectacular way.Dionisis Karra made a cleverly flighted shot just inside the box only for the ball having beat the keeper rebound of the crossbar over the head of Tommi Panagi who made a superb overhead kick into the net.(Am I watching this in Cyprus or is it Brazil.) A free kick by goalkeeper Lyubomir Stifanov was met by Tommi Panagi who in turn played Tofiras Christos through to tap the ball past a helpless keeper in the 40th minute giving EN.A.D. a deserved halftime 2-0 lead.In the second half in the 53rd minute EN.A.D. gave away a sloppy goal from a corner when goalkeeper Lyubomir Stifanov missed the ball and allowed Ellisnismos to score with a well placed header.

In the 57th minute EN.A.D. regained their two goal lead from a corner when the ball was headed back across the goal for Tofiras Christos to score with a glancing header. A further goal was added in the 62nd minute when Tofiras Christos crossed from the left to find Tommi Panagi on the far post to fire into the net. In the 81st minute Lyubomer Stifanov made up for his earlier error with an outstanding save low to his right. Ellisnismos scored a consolation goal in the 85th minute with EN.A.D. running out winners 4-2. On this form EN.A.D. have a very real chance of gaining promotion ,this was a good solid all round team performance.

Sunday 15th February 2009 PO Xyotimpoy 2006 2 EN.A.D. 0

With a depleted squad ravaged with colds and flu type symptoms EN.A.D. made the long journey to Xyotimpoy hoping to keep up their promotion challenge. Unfortunately from a corner which EN.A.D. failed to clear properly Xyoptimpoy fired a shot into the net in the first minute providing EN.A.D. with an uphill task from the beginning of the match. After withstanding considerable pressure EN.A.D. settled into their passing game obtaining a fair amount of possession and creating seven chances. However the score remained 1 -0 at halftime. Early in the second half EN.A.D. applied considerable pressure to get on level terms but this meant taking risks at the back.Invevitably Xyotimpoy who had some very quick players took advantage and in the 62nd minute played a good ball in from the right to the near post. The attacker got in front of the defender and put the ball into the net with consummate ease. Despite creating more chances this was not to be EN.A.D.'s day and the team will need to work hard in training if they are to be successful in their next match. Despite losing the match Lyubomir Stifanov in goal made some excellent one on one saves and Adreas Iakovou was outstanding at centre back.

Saturday 21st February 2009 EN.A.D. 3 Achirona 0

EN.A.D. entertained table topping Achironas knowing that they had to win to keep their promotion hopes alive. On a cold wind swept and waterlogged pitch EN.A.D. set about their task well creating five chances in the first 25 minutes, such was their dominance of the play. In the 27th minute Tommi Panagi was brought down in the box and from the resultant penalty he calmly fired into the net to put EN.A.D. deservedly ahead. Eight minutes later from a corner on the right side Dionisis Karra/Yannis played a short ball to Tommi Panagi to obtain a better angle and from the return pass,Dionisis's cross found Tofiras Christos in the middle of the goal to head the ball into the welcoming net. The score remained 2-0 at halftime. Achiniros fought hard to get back into the game but in the 74th minute Ivaylo Petcov having only just come on to replace Tofiras Christos made his way into the penalty area and from a right side cross headed past the keeper to make it 3-0. In the 84th minute Achiniros were awarded a penalty but Lyuebomir Stifanov dived low to his right making a brilliant save. A further penalty was awarded to Achironas in the 90th minute, this time the goalkeeper dived to his left but the shot went to his right and fortunately struck the post. This was a very important win for EN.A.D. who today had a fine all-round team performance with the back three of Evrididou,Pasias and Iakovou ensuring a clean sheet.

Saturday 28th Februay 2009 Aspida Pilas 1 EN.A.D. 3

Currently lying fourth in the table before the match one point off a promotion place, it was important for EN.A.D.to record an away win. In the 9th minute EN.A.D. quickly went into the lead when a cross from Antonis Altonin was met at the far post by Tofiras Christos who headed into the net. After 21minutes Aspida Pilas were awarded a penalty when goalkeeper Lyubomir Stefanou was adjudged to have fouled his opponent when diving at his feet.

However the keeper made amends with a superb penalty save diving to his left. In the twenty minutes leading up to half time Aspida Pillas applied considerable pressure but failed to score. At the same time EN.A.D. failed to add to their score also having created a number of chances. In the second half in the 62nd minute EN.A.D. were awarded a penalty and Tommi Panagi confidently slotted the ball past the keeper putting the away side 2-0 up. In the 74th minute Marinos Georgiou received the ball in the penalty area and turned with the ball on to his favoured left foot and flighted the ball into the top left hand corner. Goals such as this are not bettered at any level and the travelling supporters were rewarded for making the journey with this one piece of brilliance. In injury time Aspida Pillas scored a consolation goal when a shot rebounded off both posts and the home sides striker was able to tap the ball io to the net. The EN.A.D. Centre back trio of Panagidis Charalampos,Kiriakos Pasias and Andreas Iakovou were outstanding and were well supported by goalkeeper Lyubomir Stifanou who caught every cross taking the pressure off his defence. Later when saving the penalty he created the turning point in the game.
