Kouyiouka Watermill
     

The Kouyioka watermill is a 200 year old listed building renovated to its former glory, functioning as a cultural and folkloric multicenter dedicated to Cypriot spirit and culture. The owner’s deep understanding of traditional values, great admiration for local craft and true respect of customs dating back generations is reflected in every stone of this unique building. It also houses a coffee shop, traditional bakery, restaurant and museum.

The coffee shop and bakery is open daily from 07:30 to 20:00 and the restaurant is open Every day, during the winter, for lunch, and every Sunday afternoons serving Traditional wood oven based Cypriot buffet from 12pm until 4pm. The museum offers tours around the renovated facilities and if you join an organized visit you can be granted access to the 3rd level of the mill.

During the organized tours you can learn how their horizontal waterwheel functions and how wheat is traditionally produced, enjoy presentations on bread, wine and olive oil, stroll around the mill’s collection of rare exhibits and quite possibly taste a glass of their own wine stored in the cellars. The restaurant offers a feast of traditional Cypriot food.

The watermill’s experienced chef can offer you buffets and a la carte menus for weddings, receptions and any other private parties, the watermill can take on the task of arranging live music or dj. The Watermill can be found on the B7 road (Polis to Paphos), on the corner of the turn off to Simou.
