Our character for the Month of February is Mr. Charis Makriloucas. Mr. Makriloucas was born in Polis on the 13th January 1978. He is the 3rd born son of Andreas and Persa. Mr. Makriloucas is married to Maria and they have a son called Andreas. Ever since Mr. Makriloucas was young, he loved to cook. When he finished his 3rd year at The Gymnasium of Polis, he went to the Techincal School of Polis and spent three years studying to become a chef. When he was completing his national service, Mr. Makriloucas was the chef at the base where he served. After completing his national service, Mr. Makriloucas studies for two years at the Institute of Hotel and Catering services in Nicosia. After completing his diploma, he then went on to complete a course in Tourism and Business management in Athens, following this, he spend a year in a college in Lyon, France, where he completed a course specializing in Gourmet cooking. In 1998 Mr. Makriloucas achieved a first place in the Cyprus National Finals for Young Chefs, wining gold for his gourmet cooking, decoration and presentation. After a very successful career working in many top hotels, Mr. Makriloucas decided that along with his brother Marios, they would offer the local residents of Polis a taste of expertise and opened Archontariki Restaurant.
